My approach to therapy

I take a primarily psychodynamic approach, maintaining open dialogue, asking questions, and exploring new perspectives along the way. As things are discovered, trauma-informed treatment such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, among others, may be utilized to address specific struggles/barriers. The client "drives" the session while I ask about things along the way, point out and shine light on unseen areas, and offer feedback and perspectives as necessary.

What you can expect from me

While the therapeutic process may be uncomfortable at times, clients can expect to leave sessions with new perspective and increased insights into their presenting issues, feelings of affirmation and empowerment to address those issues, and new strategies and action steps to overcome those issues.
