Karen Hodge

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Tennessee with 25 plus years of experience in the mental health and substance abuse field I hold a Bachelor’s of Social Work from East Tennessee State University, Johnson City Tennessee and a Master's Degree in Social Work from University of Tennessee Knoxville. I have experience in helping both adolescents and adults with stress and anxiety, coping with grief and loss, motivation, self-esteem, confidence, and depression.

My goal in therapy is to support you by listening, providing feedback, challenging your thoughts and/or teaching you how to put yourself first. My clinical approaches include Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy and Trauma-Focused Therapy. These approaches will revolve around your identified therapy goals, enhance your strengths and assist you in overcoming any challenges you may be experiencing.

I have created a therapeutic virtual and office environment which are both safe, comfortable, and private. They are environments of acceptance, understanding and unconditional positive regard in which everyone feels comfortable sharing thoughts and feelings. Positive environments are essential for progress toward treatment goals, personal growth and the overall wellbeing for all people.
