Great to meet you!

Karen Watson, PMHNP-BC, is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who is passionate about helping clients become the best version of themselves as they navigate life's challenges. With experience across a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, sleep issues, and psychosis Karen takes a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to treatment. She works collaboratively with clients to evaluate symptoms, clarify diagnoses, and create personalized care plans that may include medication management, therapy, lifestyle changes, or other supportive strategies.

My approach to therapy

"My approach to care is collaborative, patient-centered, and evidence-based. I work with each person to understand their unique experiences, symptoms, strengths, and goals. I believe effective mental health treatment involves building a trusting therapeutic relationship where patients feel heard, respected, and actively involved in decisions about their care.

I use a comprehensive approach that may include psychiatric evaluation, medication management, psychotherapy interventions when appropriate, education, and coordination with other healthcare providers. I also consider biological, psychological, social, and cultural factors that may affect mental health and overall well-being.

My goal is to help patients develop the tools and support they need to manage symptoms, improve functioning, and enhance their quality of life. I strive to provide compassionate, nonjudgmental care while tailoring treatment plans to each individual's needs and preferences."

What you can expect from me

Your initial appointment will focus on understanding your mental health concerns, medical history, and treatment goals. We will complete a comprehensive psychiatric assessment, discuss any current symptoms, review previous treatments and medications, and explore factors that may be impacting your well-being. Together, we will develop an individualized treatment plan designed to support your mental health journey. You will have time to ask questions, discuss concerns, and participate actively in decisions about your care. My commitment is to provide compassionate, evidence-based, and patient-centered care in a safe and supportive environment.
