Great to meet you!

You’ve done therapy before. You got insight. Maybe even some relief. And then you ended up right back in the same patterns.

That’s the work I do.

I work with adults dealing with eating disorders, trauma, burnout, and the kind of “functional” that looks fine from the outside but is not sustainable. Most of my clients are not new to therapy. They are frustrated that what helped didn’t hold.

I have over 25 years of experience across inpatient, outpatient, and private practice, including higher levels of care in eating disorder treatment. I am licensed in Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina, and I hold advanced certifications in eating disorders, trauma, and DBT.

This is a telehealth practice designed to be structured, direct, and for people who are done circling the same insight without change.

My approach to therapy

A lot of therapy is built around insight. Most of my clients already have that.

The issue is not awareness. The issue is why the same patterns keep reasserting themselves anyway.

My work is grounded in DBT, RO-DBT, trauma work, and self-compassion, but I am less interested in the label and more interested in whether it works for you.

You can expect:

• Direct feedback when something is not working • Clear identification of patterns, not vague themes • A balance of acceptance and change, held at the same time • Attention to the systems around you, not just your thoughts

I am not a passive therapist. I will challenge you when needed. That is not a style preference. It is part of making the work stick.

What you can expect from me

The first session is not a full history. It is a working session (though I will ask you a ton of questions and try to get the info I need to help).

We focus on three things:

• What you have already tried • What has not worked • What is still repeating

You do not need to do anything ahead of time. My job is to help you start seeing the pattern, not collect every detail.

By the end of the session, you should have:

• A clearer sense of what is actually maintaining the problem • Initial direction for how we would approach it • A realistic sense of whether this is a good fit

The tone is direct, structured, and non-judgmental. We will not rush, but we also will not stay at the surface.
