Great to meet you!

Kevin received his master’s degree in counseling from Denver Seminary and has been practicing in Colorado Springs for over a decade. He has also led men’s groups since 2003, beginning with leading groups at Heart to Heart under the supervision of Dr. Doug Weiss, a nationally renowned expert in the treatment of sexual addiction. Kevin’s expertise is in the areas of trauma, intimacy aversion, sexual addiction, self-esteem development, relationship boundaries, and issues associated with anxiety and depression. Kevin has a keen understanding of men’s issues and combines his knowledge with compassion to help men work through life’s challenges with dignity. His approach allows for an environment where clients find safety, where they can talk openly and honestly. He is able to circumvent many of the walls that prevent true growth in order to help make sustainable changes in everyday life. Kevin is passionate about helping clients know who they are and their inherent value.

Kevin is trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Neurofeedback. He offers a variety of modalities to best fit the need.

My approach to therapy

Kevin's approach to therapy is the idea that every action or behavior has a legitimate need and finding that need is where healing begins. Being curious about the reasons why help to ultimately fulfill the need and change the symptoms that come from unmet needs. Counseling must be a safe place to explore and learn where shame is not allowed to block growth.

What you can expect from me

Leaving a session with expanded knowledge of themselves and their systems and how it has helped or hurt them in the past along with strategies on how to improve going forward. A sense of self worth and value that makes change worth the work.
