Great to meet you!

Hey! I'm Kristen. I know finding a therapist who's the right fit can be a challenge. Trusting someone new with intimate details of your life can feel daunting. Here's some personal and professional things to know about me to help you in figuring out if I'm a good fit:

-I've been a client in therapy since I was 17.

-I'm a parent to two kids, one with special needs.

-I'm an enneagram 9

-I love music and art and am moving towards incorporating these more in therapy with clients

Here's what to know about me professionally:

-I specialize in:

-Perinatal/postpartum/parenting

-Special needs parenting

-Relationships & Family Systems

-Trauma

-Grief

My approach to therapy

In my work, I see the counseling process as a unique relationship that provides a non-judgmental space to learn and grow both personally and in relationships with others. My hope is that clients don't feel that counseling is a clinical process, but a place where they can come and be imperfect in their humanness alongside a fellow imperfect human.

I'm a certified perinatal mental health practitioner (PMH-C), I'm certified in Relational Life Therapy (RLT), and have completed basic training in EMDR. I've completed advanced training in systemic family therapy as well and enjoy using this approach in my work.

What you can expect from me

In the first session, I make a point to connect and partner with you to understand what is bringing you to therapy, and work create a tailored plan with goals that feel fitting for you, so that you feel involved in your growth journey every step of the way. Most importantly, my goal is to have you leave sessions feeling understood on a deeper level with a clearer idea of yourself and the challenges coming up, and how you can feel better in your life and in your relationships.
