Great to meet you!

Update: I currently have a few after-school openings coming up in the next few weeks. These spots fill fast and are great for students that need to be in school.

I am Kyle Lockhart, LPC, RPT and owner of Lockhart Counseling PLLC. I provide counseling for children, teens, and adults, with a special focus on play therapy, parenting support, and individual therapy. I am trained in Child Centered Play Therapy, TraumaPlay, Brainspotting, and TF-CBT, and I tailor my approach to each client's unique personality and goals.

With a background in teaching and around 20 years of working with children and families, I bring patience, creativity, and a deep respect for the healing process into my sessions. My style is both professional and approachable - I believe therapy can involve working through hard things while also having moments of lightness and fun.

I enjoy partnering closely with parents and caregivers when working with children, and I also work with adults navigating career changes, life transitions, and self growth. Clients often find me warm, organized, and collaborative, and I aim to create a space where you feel both supported and understood.

My approach to therapy

My approach is personalized, rooted in the belief that therapy should fit each client rather than the other way around. I use play therapy, TraumaPlay, Trainspotting, and TF-CBT as appropriate, and I adapt sessions to meet each person's personality and needs. Whether we are exploring through play, processing trauma, or working on practical strategies, my focus is on creating a supportive space where clients feel truly seen and understood.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, you can expect a welcoming and calm environment where we begin by getting to know one another. I'll ask about your goals, current challenges, and what you hope to gain from therapy, while also leaving space for your questions. My goal is for you to walk away feeling comfortable, heard, and with a clear sense of how we can move forward together.
