Becoming a social worker as a second career, I have broad life experiences to draw from in the therapeutic practice. I have worked primarily as a hospital social worker, and am proficient at case management solutions in addition to therapy. I have degrees in Public Health (UCLA) and Cultural Sociology (University of Copenhagen) in addition to my Master of Social Work.
I hope to help you with the changes we face in life when those changes have been thrust on you and you are feeling overwhelmed, or when you want changes but don't know how to get there. I want to help you deal with grief and loss, and also help you if you are feeling stuck in life.
I have a direct, analytical, and creative approach to the therapeutic process, and I use elements from several evidence-based modalities to collaboratively address what is challenging to you.
My office is a safe and cozy space for us to engage in healing conversations.
The first session or two will usually be about getting to know each other, and to see if my approach is a good fit for you. Expect cognitive reframing, mindfulness practice, and homework!
