Great to meet you!

As a psychotherapist with a private practice in New York and Portland, I provide a safe and supportive space where individuals and couples can navigate life’s challenges, discover healthier coping strategies, and foster personal growth. Reaching out is often the first step toward meaningful change, and I strive to meet every client with empathy, openness, and respect.

I am bilingual in English and Italian. I hold a Master of Science in Education in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University in New York and a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Rome, “La Sapienza.” My clinical experience includes work in outpatient clinics and hospital psychiatric units, supporting clients with diverse needs.

Originally from Italy, I moved to the United States 28 years ago, my own journey of cultural transition taught me adaptability, resilience, and cross-cultural communication. These lessons help me connect deeply with clients from varied backgrounds.

My approach to therapy

Everyone faces difficult situations in life when self reflection becomes especially important. Therapy is a collaborative process to understand those situations, address your uncomfortable feelings and work on behaviors that may trouble you. By exploring your challenges through therapy, you will be able to manage life's difficulties, embrace who you are, and better appreciate the value of your life experiences.

In my therapy practice, I work with a wide range of clients. Mental health support and therapy should be available to everyone. Getting good mental healthcare is a basic right that helps both people and communities.

In addition, boundaries set growth into motion as each client comes to know themselves more deeply.

During our sessions, we will engage in an meaningful collaboration in which I provide a safe and nonjudgmental space for you to explore your thoughts, emotions, and

behaviors. We will approach each life situation with understanding and kindness,

recognizing the challenges you may be facing. Ultimately an authentic therapeutic relationship can help you establish a firm foundation for emotional growth.

What you can expect from me

Therapy offers a space to better understand uncomfortable feelings, explore behavior patterns you may want to change, and address specific life problems. It provides tools for growth and helps strengthen your ability to cope with challenges. Through this process, you can gain clarity, self-awareness, and direction.

One focus is self-exploration. Many people come to therapy to better understand their identity and navigate their personal journey. This includes reflecting on past experiences, current struggles, and future goals.

Another area is understanding the legacy of childhood. Early experiences—such as neglect, abuse, or domestic violence—can leave lasting emotional effects. By facing the past with compassion, therapy empowers you to move beyond it, fostering self-awareness and confidence to pursue your goals.

Clients also will explore feelings of exclusion or alienation. Therapy emphasizes self-acceptance and recognition of intrinsic worth. As shame and isolation diminish, you can begin building a stronger sense of belonging and self-esteem.

Life transitions—such as adolescence, becoming a parent, retirement, or facing illness—often raise deep questions about identity and meaning. Therapy provides support in navigating these moments of change and uncertainty.
