Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Nate, owner of Criterion Counseling. I work with adults who look capable on the outside but feel stressed, anxious, or burned out on the inside. Many of my clients carry a lot of responsibility and want practical support that actually helps. My approach is steady, structured, and focused on helping you feel more clear, calm, and in control again.

My approach to therapy

I use a practical, evidence-based approach focused on reducing anxiety, burnout, and chronic stress. Sessions are collaborative and goal-oriented; we identify patterns that are keeping you in unhelpful cycles and build tools that improve clarity, emotional control, and resilience. I work especially well with adults who carry significant responsibility and want focused support rather than open-ended exploration. When past experiences are influencing present stress, we address them in a way that supports forward movement. Therapy with me is steady, direct, and designed to produce meaningful progress.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll focus on understanding what’s bringing you in and what you’d like to feel different. I’ll ask some structured questions about your current stress, symptoms, and background so I can get a clear picture of what’s going on. You won’t be pressured to share more than you’re ready to. By the end of the session, we’ll outline a direction for our work and identify a few initial steps so you leave with clarity about what comes next.
