Hello! I’m Gwen Scherr, a marriage and family therapist who supports couples, families, and individuals across the lifespan who may be tired of just coping through life and are ready to move toward deeper healing and growth. I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, relationship issues, family issues, identity concerns, and the stress that can come from feeling disconnected from yourself or the people you love. Many of the people I work with want more than symptom relief — they want to feel more grounded, understood, and able to thrive in their relationships and daily lives. My goal is to offer a supportive space where you can slow down, feel seen, and begin moving toward a fuller, more authentic life!
Forest Floor Therapy is a neurodivergent and identity affirming therapy practice for adults navigating ADHD, autism, anxiety, burnout, and life transitions. At a time when the weight of the world is so heavy, the Forest Floor offers us a space of stillness to slow down, take deep breaths, be seen, feel heard, and reconnect. I am also trained in WPATH Standards of Care and comfortable writing letters of support for those seeking identity affirming medical care.
I’m active and engaged in sessions. You can expect warmth, curiosity, and honesty, not a blank stare or a clipboard. Sometimes therapy here looks like slowing down and grounding. Sometimes it looks like learning new skills. Sometimes it looks like gently challenging old beliefs that no longer serve you. There’s room for humor, swearing, pauses, and figuring things out in real time.
I am a therapist who believes healing happens through clarity, compassion, and action. My approach is grounded in neuroscience, which means we do not just talk about your patterns. We learn how your brain created them and how to rewire them in real time.
You can expect a nonjudgmental space where your experience is truly seen and understood. I am warm, straightforward, and collaborative. We move at a pace that feels safe but also meaningful, with practical tools you can use outside of session to create real change in your daily life.
I work with teens, young adults, individuals, couples, and families who feel stuck in old loops such as anxiety, overthinking, people pleasing, emotional overwhelm, and relationship patterns and are ready for something different. I help you understand your nervous system, build emotional regulation, and learn how to respond instead of react.
Most importantly, I am here to help you get unstuck and move toward a life that feels more aligned, grounded, and genuinely yours.
I like to meet my clients “where they’re at”, meaning I’ll start wherever you need to. It is sacred to me that I provide a therapeutic setting where it is safe for you to be vulnerable and real- with no judgement or criticism. Within this safe space, we'll work together to find some clarity with your struggles or brokeness. "Courage is not having the strength to go on, it is going on when you don't have the strength". -Eleanor Roosevelt

If you're feeling overwhelmed, struggling with focus, or experiencing anxiety, mood changes, or difficulty finding balance, you're not alone—and the right support can make a meaningful difference.
I am a dual-certified Family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner dedicated to helping individuals improve their mental health and overall well-being. My clinical experience includes treating ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, OCD, sleep disorders, and eating disorders.
Because of my dual certification, I approach care with the understanding that mental and physical health are deeply interconnected. When both are addressed together, individuals are better able to achieve stability, resilience, and a greater sense of well-being.
My practice combines clinical expertise, careful observation, and evidence-based guidelines to create individualized treatment plans. I strive to provide thoughtful, personalized mental health care in an environment where patients feel heard, supported, and respected.
I believe that peace on earth starts with peace in the home. I'm able to help adults, couples, and families find this peace by using healthy communication techniques, recognize their emotions and heal from past pain. This helps clients foster deeper connections in their relationships and within themselves. I work with couples needing support with communication, conflict resolution and gaining trust. I help parents establish loving limits with their children to help them learn while also maintaining connection. I can help clients cope with anxiety, depression, trauma, and postpartum.
