Great to meet you!

Dr Oluwatobi Ade, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified psychiatric provider who believes mental health care should feel collaborative, respectful, and empowering. She works with children, adolescents, and adults navigating depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, mood instability, and complex psychiatric presentations.

Known for her thorough assessments and thoughtful medication management, Oluwatobi takes time to understand the full picture, medical history, cultural background, trauma exposure, and psychosocial stressors, before developing individualized treatment plans. She integrates psychotherapy-informed care with evidence-based medication strategies to promote long-term stability, resilience, and functional recovery.

Her clinical philosophy centers on clarity, safety, and partnership, meeting patients where they are while helping them move toward meaningful change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to providing care is collaborative, evidence-based, and trauma-informed. I begin with a thorough psychiatric evaluation that considers biological, psychological, social, cultural, and medical factors to ensure diagnostic clarity. I believe effective treatment starts with fully understanding the person, not just their symptoms.

I integrate psychopharmacology with psychotherapy-informed interventions, including cognitive behavioral and skills-based strategies, to support both symptom stabilization and long-term functional improvement. Medication management is thoughtful and individualized, with careful attention to safety, side effects, and patient education.

I prioritize building a therapeutic alliance grounded in trust, respect, and cultural sensitivity. Patients are active participants in their care, and I emphasize shared decision-making so treatment plans align with their goals, values, and lived experiences.

Ultimately, my goal is not only symptom reduction, but improved functioning, resilience, and overall quality of life.

What you can expect from me

During the first session, clients can expect a thorough and structured psychiatric evaluation in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. My primary goal is to understand the full picture, what brings you in, your current symptoms, your medical and psychiatric history, past treatments, family history, and relevant life experiences, including stressors or trauma.

We will discuss your goals for treatment and what you hope to achieve. I will ask detailed questions to ensure diagnostic clarity, but you are always welcome to move at a pace that feels comfortable. There is no pressure to share more than you are ready to.

If appropriate, we will also discuss potential treatment options, which may include therapy recommendations, lifestyle strategies, and/or medication. I take time to explain the reasoning behind any diagnosis or medication recommendation, including benefits, risks, and alternatives, so you can make informed decisions.

By the end of the session, you can expect a clear understanding of the next steps and a collaborative plan tailored to your needs.
