Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Rebecca (Becky) Clay, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) based in Colorado. I’ve been a nurse since 1999, with a background in pediatric and NICU care, and I bring that same compassionate, whole-person approach into my psychiatric practice.

I specialize in working across the lifespan—particularly women—who are navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, PTSD, and life transitions. I have a special interest in helping individuals better understand ADHD across the lifespan, including how it can present differently in women and often go unrecognized.

My approach blends evidence-based psychiatric care with a functional and integrative perspective. In addition to medication management when appropriate, I also explore factors like sleep, nutrition, hormones, stress, and lifestyle patterns to support overall mental wellness. I believe mental health is deeply connected to physical health, and I work collaboratively with clients to create personalized, sustainable treatment plans.

I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and empowered. Whether you’re seeking clarity around a diagnosis, looking for medication support, or wanting a more holistic approach to your mental health, I’m here to partner with you in your care.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, personalized, and rooted in understanding the whole person—not just symptoms. I take time to get to know each client’s history, lifestyle, and goals so we can create a treatment plan that truly fits.

I provide evidence-based psychiatric care, including thoughtful medication management when appropriate, while also incorporating a functional and integrative perspective. This means we may explore factors like sleep, nutrition, stress, hormones, and daily routines, as these often play a significant role in mental health.

I specialize in working with adults, particularly women, with ADHD, anxiety, and mood-related concerns. I’m especially passionate about helping individuals who may have been overlooked or misdiagnosed, and I focus on providing clarity, education, and practical tools alongside treatment.

My style is warm, nonjudgmental, and direct. I want clients to feel comfortable asking questions, understanding their options, and being actively involved in their care. Whether we’re focusing on symptom relief, long-term wellness, or both, I aim to create a space where you feel supported, empowered, and truly heard.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a comprehensive, relaxed conversation designed to truly understand you—not just your symptoms. My goal is to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing your story at your own pace.

During this initial visit, we’ll review your current concerns, mental health history, medical background, lifestyle factors (such as sleep, stress, and nutrition), and any previous treatments or medications. If ADHD is a concern, we’ll begin a thorough evaluation to better understand your symptoms and how they impact your daily life.

Together, we’ll start identifying patterns, clarifying possible diagnoses, and discussing your goals for care. You can expect education along the way—I want you to understand what’s going on and feel empowered in your treatment decisions.

By the end of the session, we’ll typically have:

  • A clearer understanding of your symptoms and needs
  • An initial treatment plan tailored to you
  • Discussion of options, which may include therapy recommendations, lifestyle strategies, and/or medication if appropriate
  • A plan for next steps and follow-up care

My approach is collaborative, so nothing is rushed or one-size-fits-all. The goal of the first session is for you to leave feeling heard, understood, and with a clear direction forward.
