Great to meet you!

Robin, a native of Tuscaloosa, AL and a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, specializes in supporting individuals who have survived emotional and psychological trauma, helping them heal from the lasting impacts of those experiences. Her focus includes interpersonal relationships, identity, and belonging.

Since 2016, she has worked with individuals across the lifespan, offering tools to navigate trauma stemming from a wide range of relationships—including family, romantic partners, friends, clergy, acquaintances, and experiences within the foster care system. Her clients often seek care while navigating trauma that affects their sense of safety, identity, and connection.

Robin is especially proud (and excited) to support LGBTQ+ individuals as they explore their identities and build resilience within potentially uncertain—or even unsafe—social environments.

Individuals practicing polyamory and open relationships are also welcome; this is a space where all relationship structures are honored.

You don’t need a formal diagnosis to start therapy. Still, understanding that conditions such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, dissociative disorders, and personality disorders can be rooted in trauma can be helpful. Our bodies and minds adapt to keep us safe in moments of threat. While these survival responses once protected you, therapy can help you release patterns that no longer serve you and develop healthier ways of engaging with both your inner and outer world.

My approach to therapy

Robin believes you are the expert of your life, experiences, and the meaning those experiences hold for you. She serves as a clinical guide, continually learning and growing to meet the unique needs of her clients. Her therapeutic approach is trauma-informed and eclectic, combining evidence-based techniques within a compassionate, validating environment. Through a strong therapeutic alliance, she will collaborate with you to process your experiences and develop tools to manage symptoms that stand in the way of your goals—both short- and long-term.

Together, you will build upon your strengths, identity, and values to move past barriers such as emotional spiraling, ineffective coping, negative self-talk, people-pleasing, hyper-independence, and outdated attachment patterns.

What you can expect from me

Robin strives to ensure every client feels seen, heard, and understood. In the initial sessions, she provides psychoeducation about how trauma affects the brain and body, while gathering information that informs your goals for the therapeutic process. From there, you will begin exploring ways to create and maintain emotional safety and stability in your life.

Robin’s approach is grounded in curiosity and guided exploration of her clients’ inner world. She offers practical interventions and tools you can use to ground yourself, regulate emotions, and regain focus outside of therapy.
