Great to meet you!
I am passionate about supporting individuals, families, and groups navigating life’s many challenges surrounding stress and trauma reactions. I seek to understand each client, with perspective strongly rooted in ecological systems theory. All too often we assume responsibility for our hardships and challenges, perhaps even tending to blame ourselves. To fully understand ourselves, it is beneficial to identify parts of us that interact and interdepend on physical, social, and cultural systems. I heavily utilize a person-centered approach, relying on the content provided from the expert of yourself, you.
I look to hold an open and affirming space that honors each person, family, and group member. I have an integrative approach to therapy, bringing in various theories, perspectives, and modalities. Some of the therapeutic modalities I use include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.
Much of my experience has been influenced from my background as an emergency responder. I was a wildland firefighter for nearly a decade. I am passionate about the outdoors and enjoy finding ways to incorporate the landscape into the therapeutic experience, with an emphasis in grounding and mindfulness.
