I have been a social worker for 20 years and a licensed therapist for 10 years. I attended Texas State University where I earned my Master of Social Work. I have a certificate in trauma focused care and specialize in family of origin systems that impact us into adulthood.
My approach to therapy is simple: you are the expert in your own life. The time we will spend together in the whole that is your life is actually pretty minimal, and I trust you to take us where you want to go. I am going to meet you where you are at using a strengths-based approach and focusing on the systems in your life that brought you into therapy.
My first priority in working with you is that you feel safe, comfortable, heard, and seen in our work together. Healing hurts, and I want you to know from the first second of working together that I validate the strength it takes to make that first call of send that first email asking for help. The most consistent comments I have received from my clients is that coming to my office or meeting with me online feels "cozy," inviting, and accepting.
