Great to meet you!

People come to therapy for many reasons. Some are struggling with anxiety, OCD, stress, or feeling emotionally overwhelmed. Others are navigating life transitions such as starting college, entering adulthood, changing careers, becoming a parent, caring for aging parents, or moving through perimenopause and menopause. Sometimes there isn’t a single crisis. Instead, there is a growing sense that life feels harder than it should, or that old ways of coping are no longer working.

I work with teens, young adults, and adults who are trying to manage the demands of everyday life while carrying a great deal beneath the surface. Many are bright, capable, and caring people who find themselves overthinking, emotionally exhausted, distracted, stuck in patterns of worry, or struggling to make space for their own needs. Together, we work to better understand what is keeping them stuck, develop practical tools, and create meaningful changes that support a more balanced and fulfilling life.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should be both supportive and practical. My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and tailored to each individual’s needs. With more than 23 years of experience as a therapist and school social worker, I help clients better understand the patterns, experiences, and beliefs that may be contributing to anxiety, OCD, overwhelm, relationship difficulties, or feeling stuck.

I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and anxiety, Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed interventions, and mindfulness-based strategies. Together, we work to increase self-awareness, build effective coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change. My goal is to provide a space where clients feel understood, challenged when appropriate, and supported as they move toward the life they want to live.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you’ve never worked with a therapist before. The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We will talk about your current concerns, relevant life experiences, your strengths, and what you hope to gain from our work together.

My style is warm, conversational, and nonjudgmental. You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin. Many clients tell me they feel relieved after the first session because they finally have a space to slow down, feel heard, and start making sense of what they have been carrying on their own. Together, we will identify goals and develop a plan that feels realistic and meaningful for you.
