Great to meet you!

Over more than 35 years, people, ages 21 through late life, have partnered with me, a clinical psychologist, to navigate their emotional, psychological, and medical challenges. They have learned to maneuver through challenging situations with emotional and cognitive flexibility and resilience. Whether you're dealing with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, "stress", the impact of trauma, or chronic medical issues, I offer a structured and compassionate path for you to build insight, resilience, and healthier ways of coping. Many people have allowed me to walk with them through their stories, giving me invaluable insights to support clients now, as they build the lives they deserve, one step at a time.

My approach to therapy

My practice is grounded in evidence-based treatment in individual sessions, primarily using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), informed by Social Learning Theory, and moving specifically into trauma-focused CBT when necessary.

I currently work with adults aged 21 and older, including geriatric clients, who may be managing mental health symptoms alongside major life transitions or health-related concerns. Therapy is always tailored to your needs, drawing on proven interventions to support long-term change and improved well-being.

Because I served over a decade as a co-investigator at a clinical research site, contributing to the development and testing of new psychiatric medications, I have considerable experience that informs my integrated understanding of both psychological and medical approaches to care.

My expertise is in the areas of Depression & Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Coping with Trauma, Adjustment and Life Transitions, Stress Management, Health Psychology & Improving Health Outcomes

What you can expect from me

Usually, our first and second sessions define the issues that brought you to a psychologist as well as elaborate details of your personal story and any specific mental health issues. With that groundwork, we decide what will be our immediate focus for relief and improvement and foreshadow where our future path. I tell clients that if "Plan A is not working within 3-4 sessions, then we need to create Plan B." My goal is to be the experienced therapist helping you move forward with clarity and confidence.
