Great to meet you!

Hello! If we were meeting in person right now, I’d say, “Please have a seat, make yourself comfortable.”

I’ve been working as a clinical counselor for over 16 years, and what I love most about this work is helping people navigate life’s challenges—whether it’s anxiety, major life transitions, or simply feeling stuck. I specialize in working with adults and aim to create a warm, accepting space where you can feel genuinely cared for and supported.

Clients often tell me they feel at ease with me, and that my mix of optimism and realism helps them find clarity and confidence. I believe every person is inherently valuable, capable, and resilient—this includes you. It’s often through the hardest times that we uncover new strength, purpose, and growth.

I earned my Master of Science in Clinical Counseling from the University of Southern Maine in 2004 and have worked in a variety of clinical settings with people of all ages. I’m licensed in Maine, New Hampshire, North Carolina, and South Carolina and now work in private practice via telehealth, bringing flexibility and accessibility to the therapy process.

In my free time, I enjoy being with family and friends, traveling, and finding something to laugh about each day.

My approach to therapy

As a counselor, my approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based practices. These evidence-based methods allow me to support clients in practical, meaningful ways—helping them understand how thoughts, behaviors, and life choices influence emotional well-being.

From a CBT perspective, I help clients examine the beliefs and messages they’ve internalized over time—the stories we tell ourselves—and how those thoughts shape emotions and behaviors. Just as thoughts influence actions, we can also use behavior to reshape thinking. With support and intention, this process can lead to lasting change.

Solution-Focused Therapy guides the structure of our work. I believe that if you're seeking therapy, you're already motivated to change something in your life. Together, we’ll focus on identifying goals and taking concrete steps forward—using your strengths to build solutions that are meaningful and sustainable.

Mindfulness is the third key element of my approach. This includes tools like breathwork and meditation, but also broadens to consider how you care for yourself daily—are you moving your body, eating nourishing foods, getting enough sleep, and connecting with others? Research continues to show that these seemingly small habits have a profound impact on our mood, stress levels, and overall quality of life.

Above all, I aim to create a collaborative, compassionate space where you can feel safe to explore, grow, and move toward the life you want to live.
