Cory Parsons

I am a graduate of Arkansas Tech University and completed the Rehabilitation Counseling program through the University of Arkansas at Little Rock to obtain my Master's degree. I have worked in several positions that have allowed me to gain experience in helping those who suffer from drug addiction, mental illness, abuse survivors, and so much more. A few of the facilities I have worked with include Freedom House, Birchtree Communities, Pinnacle Pointe Outpatient, and RPI (Real Practices Inc) all in the Russellville area. My biggest take-away from my experiences is that each person is different and there cannot be a "one-size fits all" when it comes to therapy and treatment. I enjoy getting to know a person as an individual and learning what that person needs in order to improve and be their best self.

I don't sugar-coat what I say when I know something needs to be addressed. There are times that this may seem hurtful, but it always leads to getting to the root of the problem and taking the big step forward in healing. I try to help others find humor in the little things or identify the small victories in their day to day life.

The first visit is about building rapport and setting expectations from both sides. I want to know what clients need to gain from these sessions and I want to be completely transparent about what needs to be done to meet those needs.
