Great to meet you!
I have 35 years’ experience working in the behavioral health field, beginning my career as a Residential Rehabilitation Counselor while working on my undergraduate degree in psychology at Towson University. I graduated from University of Maryland, Baltimore with a master’s in Social Work. Through my career I have provided direct service in outpatient behavioral health and recovery support settings, including individual, group and family therapy for mental health, substance use and co-occurring disorders, crisis intervention, trauma treatment, education and advocacy.
I have extensive experience in navigating recovery with sexual abuse and sexual assault survivors, and with chronic stress response of all forms. I have specialty training working with first responders, active military, veterans and LGBTQ community members. Being a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and several other adverse childhood experiences, I have been on the receiving end of therapeutic interventions, including EMDR. I am currently pursuing certification in this type of therapy as it was tremendously impactful in my own wellness journey.
When not serving as a clinician, administrator, educator or advocate, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, birding, being an active member of the community, and being outdoors – basically doing anything that advances health and wellbeing.
