Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Kendra Doukas, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Clinical Director at The Catalyst Center in Denver. I’ve been in practice since 2009, and my work is rooted in a deep respect for each person’s unique healing journey. I specialize in working with trauma, attachment wounds, and life transitions using evidence-based approaches such as EMDR (including Attachment-Focused EMDR and the Flash Technique), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). I also support couples, families, and children in navigating challenges with connection, communication, grief, and emotional regulation.

I hold a Master’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University and a certificate in Women’s Studies. My additional training includes advanced trauma therapies and certification in Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy. I strive to create a grounded, compassionate, and collaborative space where clients feel safe to explore, heal, and grow.

My approach to therapy

I believe healing happens when we feel safe, seen, and supported—so I prioritize creating a space that is compassionate, nonjudgmental, and centered around your unique needs and goals.

I often incorporate trauma-informed, somatic, and relational methods, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). Whether we're unpacking the impact of early attachment experiences, processing past trauma, or navigating a current transition, I offer tools for regulation and insight alongside space for deeper emotional work. Therapy with me often includes curiosity, skill-building, and space for self-discovery. I also integrate spiritual exploration for those who find it meaningful.

Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels right to you, honoring both the vulnerability and the strength it takes to show up for this work.

Specialized Areas of Expertise

  • Complex PTSD & Trauma Recovery: Skilled in EMDR, The Flash Technique, and nervous system regulation for healing attachment and chronic trauma.
  • Psychedelic-Assisted & Ketamine Therapy: Clinical Director of KAP, guiding clients through intensive support before, during, and after ketamine sessions.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS): Uses IFS to help clients integrate parts that hold fear, grief, anxiety, or self-criticism.
  • Couples, Children & Family Therapy: Deeply experienced with individuals, families, and children—through play and connection—supporting communication, trust, and navigating grief, loss, transitions, and relationship challenges.

What you can expect from me

Clients often leave sessions with a greater sense of clarity, self-compassion, and connection to their inner resources. My goal is to help you feel more grounded and empowered in your life—whether that means healing from trauma, improving relationships, managing anxiety, or finding a deeper sense of purpose and meaning.

In our work together, you can expect a calm, supportive environment where all parts of you are welcome. Many clients describe our sessions as a space where they can breathe deeply, explore safely, and feel genuinely understood. Over time, clients often notice increased emotional regulation, more secure relationships, and a stronger sense of self-trust.

Whether we're doing deep trauma processing, integrating insights from psychedelic-assisted work, or building practical coping tools, my aim is to support lasting change that feels authentic and sustainable for you.
