Great to meet you!

I am a happy woman. After I completed my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, I worked in a hospice setting while pursuing my master’s degree in counselor education. After earning my License Professional Counselor in Texas, I decided the hospice setting was perfect for using all my skills, both as a Registered Nurse and as a therapist. While working for hospice, I conducted grief support groups for children and families for 15 years. After leaving hospice work, I started a business providing private therapy and consultations. I serve my community by conducting dialogue groups and lecturing through the University of North Texas College of Life-long Learning. I write a monthly newsletter on various topics relating to aging, and published my first book, “It is About Time”.

My approach to therapy

My approach is relaxed and informal. My primary focus is to provide my clients with strategies to adapt to an altered life situation or find ways to resolve current issues and move forward. My secondary focus is improving coping skills, self-care, and stress management skills, making it easier to deal with their current situation.

What you can expect from me

I think my clients leave our sessions with a sense of hope and empowerment, feeling valued and validated. They will have more tools for coping with their current situation as well as for managing stress. Most of all they feel comforted that they are no longer struggling alone.
