Great to meet you!

I am a licensed mental health therapist that has supported families in various capacities, for over 30 years. My upbringing as a military child taught me resilience through frequent moves, family stress, and my father’s Vietnam service. Our family of six kids and our Mom, deployed to Okinawa with our father, as he flew missions in and out of the war. Such experiences led to my own complex trauma.

This preempted my path to working in psychology and ultimately led me to identifying and beginning the healing process for my own traumas. I connect deeply with military families and those from unstable backgrounds, multiple transitions, and life interruptions; which I now view as 'life redirects'. With experience working in foster and adoption services, education and career counseling, and Employee Assistance Programs, I combine empathy with a strengths-based, evidence-informed approach to support clients define their personal goals, walk their own journey and achieve health and healing with a whole health approach. If you see me as a fit for your journey, I hope to meet you and look forward to working with you.

My approach to therapy

I have extensive experience working with mood and adjustment disorders, depression, anxiety, PTSD, complex-PTSD, ADHD, employment issues, grief and loss, chronic health issues, and temporary personal stressors. My experience is that most people heal within the confines of a safe place to talk and feel heard, evidence based treatments and an eclectic blend of healing modalities, emotional support, some humor and authentic human connection. Healing is a process and journey in which we all share in the human condition- we never fully arrive.

What you can expect from me

I believes in whole health care and practices treating the ‘whole person’ (body, soul, mind, spirit). I love time with my family, kids, grand children, friends, going to the gym, listening to music, time with my ESA Doodle named Kai, walking, travel and trying new cuisine. Anywhere near the ocean is a place I love to be!
