Great to meet you!

I take a person-centered approach to counseling and am known for warmth and connection with clients of all ages, backgrounds and cultures. I am a former athlete, mother of boys, and an advocate for woman's issues. Prior to working as a therapist, I held careers in the fields of sexual assault response and prevention, non-profit, and international development. I am also a trained horticulturalist and have explored the healing connection between people and plants. I have lived in East Africa am a trained Swahili interpreter. I am also conversant in Spanish. My approach to therapy integrates multiple theories and frameworks, considering wellness and lifestyle, attachment patterns, trauma, culture, and grief.

My approach to therapy

I offer a protected space, calm and free from the noise of the outside world where you can explore your life and feel supported in your personal work. I enjoy exploring lifestyle and wellness goals to improve and manage mood, balance hormones, and focus attention. After losing a parent early in life, I approach grief work with personal experience and humility. I also counsel those who have experienced war trauma and who have been targets for racial, gender-based or political violence.

What you can expect from me

In your first session, you will experience a secure space to lay out your thoughts and define broad goals for therapy. My hope is that you will feel connection and potential for growth, improved wellbeing and healing.
