Great to meet you!

This isn't how you imagined your life would be... Susan Faurot has over four decades of experience treating adults suffering from trauma, depression, anxiety, and grief and she works with individual adults and couples. She uses specific techniques to reprocess trauma, including brainspotting, somatic techniques, and mindfulness practices to help you achieve your goals.

I took a psychology elective in high school and I was hooked from then on. After earning my MFT license, I had a private practice for 21 years. I then worked at Kaiser-Permanente in the Department of Psychiatry for 8 years and subsequently returned to private practice. I work with adults 18 and up and my particular specialty is trauma treatment. I believe trauma underlies most of our mental health struggles and it must be reprocessed for healing to be significant.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy includes:

What you can expect from me

Your first session with me is the intake interview. I ask questions about your history and what you are looking for from therapy. It's a meet-and-greet and you ask questions too. We both have an opportunity to see if working together will be a good fit.
