Great to meet you!

Counseling since 1998, with a career detour in the early 2000's. I see women and girls, ages 14 and over to address depression, self-worth, identity and meaning, trauma, grief, ambiguous loss, relationship issues, and life transitions. I take an integrated approach, using CBT, SFBT, PCT, and some DBT, depending on the person, their treatment goals, and rhythms of the session. I'm a professional counselor who is a Christian and leave it up to you whether to integrate faith into the counseling process. Learn more at www.blackcanyonmh.com.

My approach to therapy

You, the client, are the expert on you. I come alongside you to provide professional support and tools to get where you want to go and to address the problem/s you want to work on in therapy. We will collaborate to explore your situation, and not just the problems—we will also focus on your strengths and hopes. I will ask strategic questions and reflect what I hear, to assist you in pursuing your goals and objectives with the goal of empowering you and realizing your agency for change, healing, and growth.

What you can expect from me

You should expect a therapeutic relationship based on trust and rapport. You can expect to feel heard and to take away insights and practical help, as the real work of therapy is what you do with new insights and tools in between sessions.
