I draw from several approaches, woven together rather than used one at a time:
Attachment Theory: We are wired for connection. Together we can explore relationship patterns with curiousity and through understanding and intentionality, new patterns can immerge.
Family Systems Theory: We live amongst others, in our home, at work, and in our communities. Others have an influence us. Noticing this, naming it, and seeing patterns can help us to step outside our automatic reactions and begin to respond intentionally.
Internal Family Systems (parts work): We’re all made up of different parts: the anxious part, the angry part, the part that wants to disappear. These parts all have a purpose in our system. When we get curious about them instead of fighting them, we can change the way we feel.
Somatic Therapy: The body holds what our mind can’t always put into words. Many of the emotions that feel confusing or overwhelming are stored physically in our bodies. Maybe you notice it through tension, numbness or pain. Healing often needs to include the body, not just the mind.
Nervous System Regulation: This is a foundational system in our bodies. When our system is dysregulated, we aren't able to learn, make healthy decisions and connect with others. We can learn to recognize and gently regulate your own nervous system, creating the safety needed to have access to our full capabilities.
Together, these approaches shape how I show up with every client. In addition, it's of utmost important to me to create a space for us that is non-judgmental and has unconditonal positive regard for you.
If any of this resonates, I'd love to meet you.
