Great to meet you!

Hi there! I'm Benita, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker licensed in both Arizona and North Carolina. I specialize in trauma and trauma-related dissociation, and I work with adults who are carrying the effects of past experiences and want to feel more grounded, regulated, and steady in their everyday lives. My background includes outpatient work, community mental health experience, and providing clinical supervision to other therapists. I’ve been a self-employed private practice owner since 2023.

I’m a certified EMDR therapist trained in DBR (Deep Brain Reorienting), a modality that works with early attachment patterns and brainstem-level responses. I also integrate parts work and somatic practices, choosing approaches based on what fits a client’s goals, comfort level, and pace.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic style is trauma-informed, client-centered, and multimodal. I aim to bring a grounded, compassionate, and down-to-earth presence to the work while offering gentle direction and accountability when it’s helpful. My goal is to create a space where clients feel supported, understood, and encouraged to shift patterns that no longer serve them and make meaningful, lasting changes.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and creating a safe, supportive space. I’ll ask about what’s bringing you to therapy, your goals, and any relevant background, all at a pace that feels comfortable for you; there’s no expectation to share everything right away. I’ll also explain my approach and what therapy with me can look like, and we’ll talk through next steps together.
