Great to meet you!

I graduated from Frostburg State University located in Frostburg, Maryland with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology in 2011 and a Master of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology in 2015. I am currently licensed in North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist.

My approach to therapy

My general counseling approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which challenges your thinking patterns and helps to identify how these influence your emotions and behaviors. I also use DBT and trauma informed practices. My goal is to create a safe and comfortable environment, which can foster growth in self-awareness. I believe to make lasting progress in therapy, it is important to establish a strong therapeutic relationship through genuine understanding and empathy.

What you can expect from me

The outcome of treatment depends largely on your willingness to engage in this process, which may, at times, result in some emotional discomfort. Remembering unpleasant events and becoming aware of feelings attached to those events can bring on strong feelings of anger, depression, anxiety, etc. I cannot promise that your behavior or circumstance will change. I can promise to support you and do my very best to understand you and help identify makes you better than you were yesterday.
