Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Maddie! I grew up in a small town in Western New York and spent most of my early days running around outside playing in the mud. From teenage to young adulthood I struggled significantly with anxiety, GI issues, and trying to fit in with who/what I saw around me. Once I moved to Colorado, I had complete culture shock and started rethinking who I am and how I want to show up in the world. After learning strategies first hand, and attending grad school for Art Therapy, I started finding my way. Now, I'm passionate about helping others find empowerment and connection to the things that matter most to them. I'd love to work with children, teens and young adults who are questioning their identity or living with anxiety or difficult symptoms after going through trauma.

My approach to therapy

As a client centered, art therapist I aim to provide a safe and caring space for you to explore and express your inner world.

Art-making is great for the brain and a helpful tool for healing trauma and regulating the nervous system. We'll use art each week whether it's a guided scribble to soothe the nervous system before diving in with words, or a more involved project to communicate something without having to use words.

I also specialize in Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). This type of therapy helps parents/caregivers know what to say and do to help their children heal from confusing or scary life experiences. There will be a blend of 1:1 parent coaching and child sessions so that you both get time and space to process emotions and learn the tools you need for healing.

What you can expect from me

Building a trusting relationship with clients is the most important thing to me. I'll be there to listen to you and to help find relief through mindfulness, creativity/art, problem solving, and re-patterning the brain through words and actions.
