Great to meet you!

Hello! I'm so glad you're here and proud of you for making such a vulnerable and life-changing decision. I believe that we can't always control our circumstances, but that we have the power to choose how to respond to circumstances, with hope, meaning and purpose. I earned a BA in Psychology, a MA/EdS in Mental Health Counseling, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in NC. I have worked in various settings over the past ten years and specifically enjoy counseling adult females 18 and over.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I specialize in helping clients meet their goals related to anxiety, depression, loss, trauma, women's issues (infertility, child loss, and perinatal/post-partum issues), identity, self-worth, boundaries, and communication skills. I utilize a blended counseling approach implementing interventions such as, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Solution focused therapy, Mindfulness and Existential therapy. I am certified in EMDR, a therapeutic approach for trauma that is fast-paced and evidenced based.

What you can expect from our first session

I aim to establish a safe, authentic, and nurturing relationship of mutual respect and collaboration. Together, we will set goals and you will gain insight. I will challenge you and help provide a path for positive change. There are no quick-fixes, and you will have to be an active participate in the counseling process.
