At Jumirean Mental Health Group, care is grounded in clinical excellence and faith-centered purpose. I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based mental health care to adolescents and adults.
My approach is holistic—addressing the mind, body, and soul with intention and clinical precision. I believe true healing extends beyond symptom relief; it is the restoration of balance, the strengthening of resilience, and the rediscovery of clarity, purpose, and inner peace. Through comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, individualized medication management, and supportive therapeutic guidance, each treatment plan is thoughtfully tailored to reflect the unique needs and lived experiences of every individual.
I have 31 years of nursing experience and specialize in the evaluation and treatment of postpartum mental health conditions, including postpartum depression. I also treat anxiety, depression, mood disorders, weight management, PTSD and OCD. I started out in maternity and pediatrics as my nursing career and then went back to school for my masters, PMHNP certification and doctoral degree. I have also taught nursing students in undergraduate and graduate curriculums. I believe meaningful healing starts with being truly heard. I take a holistic, collaborative approach to care—working with you to understand the root causes of your symptoms and develop a personalized treatment plan that supports your overall well-being, looking at medications and holistic measures such as diet and supplements in order to heal. Some of the most important nutrients essential for brain health include Vitamin B12, Vitamin B6, Vitamin D Vitamin A Folate and Protein. Treatment includes evidence-based medications, therapy, supplements, and nutrition management tailored to your unique needs, culture, goals, and comfort level. I believe in managing your gut health can manage your brain health and provide you to be a better healthier person inside out. Treatment plans are individualized, collaborative, and focused on restoring stability, functioning, and overall well-being.
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), I am committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care that respects each individual’s unique background, culture, and experiences. I believe in building strong, trusting relationships with my clients and creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and understood.

You should know that I truly see you — not just your symptoms or diagnosis. Many clients come to me feeling anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, scattered, or stuck — often after feeling unheard or dismissed by other providers. My goal is to understand the full picture — your goals, challenges, and values — and create a space where you feel safe, supported, and empowered throughout your care. I work with children, teens, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and other psychiatric concerns.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding psychiatrists in Hackensack starts with understanding what kind of care fits your needs. Psychiatrists and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners can diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medication, and manage medication over time. Therapists provide talk therapy and may work with a prescriber as part of your care. If you are looking for support with anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, or medication management, review each psychiatrist’s listed specialties, training, and approach before booking.
Hackensack is a smaller city within Bergen County, so nearby in-person psychiatric options may be more limited than in larger New Jersey markets. Virtual appointments can expand your search while still keeping care covered through your insurance plan. Psychiatric medication management visits are usually shorter and less frequent than therapy sessions, though some psychiatrists also offer therapy. As you compare options, look at appointment availability, whether the psychiatrist is accepting new patients, and what their bio says about communication style and session structure.
Psychiatric care in Hackensack can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to lower your out-of-pocket costs. Headway helps you find psychiatrists who match your needs, take your plan, and are accepting new patients. You can enter your insurance details, see an estimated session cost before you book, review psychiatrist bios, and book directly when you’re ready.
If you're already taking psychiatric medication and considering switching providers, talk to your current prescriber before changing or stopping any medication — most psychiatric medications shouldn't be stopped abruptly. Anyone experiencing thoughts of self-harm or in acute crisis should call 988 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than wait for an outpatient appointment.
