I’m passionate about helping people feel more like themselves again. I understand how overwhelming it can feel when your emotions, energy, or focus are out of sync. My goal is to provide thoughtful, individualized care that brings stability and peace back into your life.
When I started working in psychiatry it became my passion. I work with individuals from the age of 6 to geriatrics. I have had the pleasure to work on several inpatient crisis stability units for adult age patients 18-55 years old as well as geriatric units for patients ages 55 years and older. I have also worked in a private practice setting for the past 4 years. I have come to realize when you love what you do it no longer truly is work.

She later transitioned into nursing, earning a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certificate from Johns Hopkins University. Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding psychiatrists in Carrollton starts with understanding the type of mental health care you need. Psychiatrists and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners can diagnose conditions and prescribe medication, while therapists focus on talk therapy and support. Medication management may be part of care for concerns like anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, or OCD. Some people start with a psychiatrist, some start with a therapist, and some work with both.
In a smaller city like Carrollton, local psychiatry appointments may be more limited, so virtual care can expand your options while keeping in-person care available when it fits your schedule. Psychiatry visits for medication management are often shorter and less frequent than therapy sessions, though some psychiatrists also offer therapy. As you compare options, look at appointment availability, whether the psychiatrist is accepting new patients, and what each bio says about conditions treated, care style, and session structure.
Psychiatric care in Carrollton can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before booking. Headway helps you find psychiatrists who are accepting new patients with your plan, see estimated out-of-pocket costs upfront, and book directly when you’re ready.
If you're already taking psychiatric medication and considering switching providers, talk to your current prescriber before changing or stopping any medication — most psychiatric medications shouldn't be stopped abruptly. Anyone experiencing thoughts of self-harm or in acute crisis should call 988 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than wait for an outpatient appointment.
