I’m passionate about helping people feel more like themselves again. I understand how overwhelming it can feel when your emotions, energy, or focus are out of sync. My goal is to provide thoughtful, individualized care that brings stability and peace back into your life.
When I started working in psychiatry it became my passion. I work with individuals from the age of 6 to geriatrics. I have had the pleasure to work on several inpatient crisis stability units for adult age patients 18-55 years old as well as geriatric units for patients ages 55 years and older. I have also worked in a private practice setting for the past 4 years. I have come to realize when you love what you do it no longer truly is work.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences and a Master of Science in Marine Chemical Ecology from The University of Mississippi. Her passion for understanding the biological basis of behavior led her to pursue a PhD in Behavioral Neuroendocrinology at North Carolina State University. During her doctoral research, she focused on how hormones influence brain function and behavior, a natural extension of her lifelong curiosity about human behavior. She later transitioned into nursing, earning a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certificate from Johns Hopkins University. Erica has provided evidence-based, holistic care for children, adolescents, and adults in multiple settings, including community-based clinics, telehealth, and work with active-duty military personnel, reservists, and veterans.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding psychiatrists in Jonesboro starts with understanding the type of care you want to book. Psychiatrists and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners can diagnose mental health conditions and prescribe medication, while therapists focus on talk therapy. Psychiatric care often includes medication management, which means reviewing symptoms, discussing how care is going, and adjusting the plan when appropriate. People often look for this kind of support for anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, or related concerns. Both therapy and psychiatry can be valid starting points, depending on your needs.
In a smaller city like Jonesboro, the number of local psychiatry appointments may be more limited, so virtual care can expand your options beyond nearby offices. Medication management visits are usually shorter and less frequent than therapy sessions, which can make appointment timing, availability, and format especially important. Some psychiatrists also offer therapy, and some people choose to work with both a therapist and a prescriber. Before booking, read each psychiatrist’s bio to understand their specialties, appointment style, and whether they offer a free phone consultation.
Psychiatric care in Jonesboro can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and see your estimated out-of-pocket cost before you book. Headway helps you search psychiatrists who accept a wide range of insurance plans, are accepting new patients, and match your preferences for care format, availability, and focus areas. You can browse profiles, compare options, and book directly when you’re ready.
If you're already taking psychiatric medication and considering switching providers, talk to your current prescriber before changing or stopping any medication — most psychiatric medications shouldn't be stopped abruptly. Anyone experiencing thoughts of self-harm or in acute crisis should call 988 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than wait for an outpatient appointment.
