Hi! I'm Dr. Miller, a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 30 years of experience in mental health and wellness care. My journey has taken me from earning my BSN at Barry University to my MSN and FNP at the University of Miami, a Post-Master's as a Psych NP from the University of Alabama, and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from FIU. That depth of training means I bring both clinical expertise and genuine, hard-earned wisdom to every person I work with.
I bring eight years of prior experience as an adult and pediatric emergency room nurse. My background in acute care has given me a strong foundation in crisis intervention, compassionate listening, and evidence-based clinical judgment.
I was born in Los Angeles, spent 15 years living in Hawaii, and now reside in Miami, Florida. My diverse life experiences — including traveling to 23 countries — have shaped my cultural awareness and deep respect for the unique perspectives of every individual I serve.
I believe that mental wellness involves treating the whole person, not just their symptoms. My goal is to create a supportive, collaborative environment where you feel heard, empowered, and equipped to build meaningful, lasting change in your life.
My name is Dr. Josh Waddell, DNP, PMHNP-BC, and I am an integrative psychiatric provider dedicated to healing through identifying root causes of illness. I believe true healing occurs when we understand and address the imbalances within a person’s life. My approach is holistic and individualized, incorporating medication management, psychotherapy, and complementary and alternative interventions.
I have over 15 years of experience in mental health, having worked as a case manager, therapist, and psychiatric nurse practitioner. My work has spanned a wide range of settings, from sitting at the bedside in hospital rooms, to outpatient clinics in rural areas of Tennessee and Florida.
I am a double graduate of Vanderbilt University, earning both my MSN and DNP with a focus in psychiatric mental health. I also hold a master’s degree in clinical mental health and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Tennessee Technological University.
In addition to my clinical practice, I serve as teaching faculty at Yale University in the PMHNP program and am the host of the podcast Mental Maps, where I explore the intersection of mental health, meaning, and integrative care.
I am a dual certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) offering comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits remotely via telemedicine throughout the state of Florida. I provide medication management and brief psychotherapy to adolescents, adults specializing in anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder and Couples Therapy
I am Dr. Jennifer Richie, DNP, a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C). I completed my Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) at Chamberlain University, with my graduate degree earned at Georgetown University and my undergraduate degree at Drexel University. My background encompasses child and adolescent psychiatry, adult psychiatry, and addiction medicine.
Very empathic, resilient, welcoming and non judgmental.
I’m a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and proud U.S. Army veteran committed to helping adults find balance and healing. I provide evidence-based, compassionate care for anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress-related conditions. My goal is to create a calm, respectful environment where every client—veteran or civilian—feels seen, supported, and understood. I combine medication management with practical coping strategies and therapy-informed guidance to promote lasting well-being.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding the right psychiatrist in Winter Springs starts with understanding the type of care you need. Psychiatrists are medical doctors who can diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medication, and monitor how those medications are working over time. If you're looking for help with anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, or another mental health concern, a qualified psychiatric provider can help you understand your care options. Psychiatric nurse practitioners (PMHNPs) can also evaluate, diagnose, and prescribe medication, and are another option available through Headway.
Winter Springs is a smaller community within the Orlando metro area, and the number of local psychiatrists can be limited. Expanding your search to include nearby cities like Oviedo, Longwood, Lake Mary, and Altamonte Springs — or considering virtual appointments — can open up more options. When reviewing providers, look for someone who has experience with your specific concerns and whose approach feels like a good match. Reading a provider's bio before booking can help you feel more confident about your choice.
Psychiatry sessions in Central Florida can be expensive without insurance. Using your in-network benefits is one of the most reliable ways to lower your out-of-pocket costs. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs upfront, and many patients pay as low as $0 per visit. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, making it easier to find a psychiatrist who is both the right clinical fit and covered by your plan.
