I'm Gifty Danso, a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University, and since then, I've worked across a range of settings — inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and correctional facilities. That variety has given me a real appreciation for meeting people wherever they are in life. Over the years, I've supported adolescents, adults, and older adults dealing with everything from depression and anxiety to addiction and psychosis.

I am a dual board-certified psychiatric and geriatric nurse practitioner with over 25 years of healthcare experience, providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care to young adults, adults, and older adults. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, insomnia, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, and behavioral or psychological symptoms associated with dementia and complex medical conditions.

My experience spans hospital care, rehabilitation, hospice, and long-term care settings, giving me a deep understanding of the connection between physical and mental health. I am especially comfortable supporting individuals with multiple medical concerns or those navigating life transitions related to aging, illness, or stress.

I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who believes that true and lasting healing happens when we treat the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—not just symptoms. My educational journey reflects my commitment to integrative and holistic care. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in biological and nursing sciences, a Master’s in acupuncture science, and a Doctorate in chiropractic medicine from the National University of Health Sciences, where I developed a strong foundation in Eastern medicine and natural therapies. I am a double board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in family and psychiatric mental health.

I completed medical school at USF in Tampa, Florida and I completed psychiatry residency at GW in Washington, DC. I specialize in depression and anxiety.
