Welcome! I'm Dr. Ben Osevwe, a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with more than 22 years of experience in mental health care, including over 4.5 years as a PMHNP. I founded Solid Foundation Psychiatry with one mission: to provide compassionate, evidence-based, and personalized psychiatric care that empowers individuals to live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
I work with adolescents and adults ages 12 through 90, providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and supportive psychotherapy. I believe that effective mental health treatment goes beyond prescribing medication. Every visit is an opportunity to listen, educate, collaborate, and develop a treatment plan that reflects your unique goals, values, and life circumstances.
My clinical interests include ADHD, depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, autism spectrum disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), insomnia, mood disorders, and other psychiatric conditions. Whether you're seeking help for the first time or have struggled with symptoms for years, I strive to create a safe, respectful, and judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns.
I provide both in-person psychiatric care in Pearland, Texas, serving the greater Houston area, and telepsychiatry to patients in states where I am licensed. My approach combines evidence-based medication management with psychotherapy and lifestyle recommendations.
My philosophy is simple: Every person deserves to be heard, treated with dignity, and given the tools to thrive. I believe healing begins with a trusting relationship, open communication, and a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs.
It is a privilege to be part of your mental health journey, and I look forward to partnering with you to help you build resilience, restore hope, and achieve lasting emotional wellness.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding psychiatrists in Spring starts with understanding the type of care you’re looking for. Psychiatrists and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners can diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medication, and manage ongoing medication needs. Therapists provide talk therapy and may work alongside a prescriber. If you’re looking for support with anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, or medication management, read each psychiatrist’s listed specialties, credentials, and approach to see whether their experience matches your needs.
Spring is close to larger care hubs like The Woodlands, Tomball, and Houston, but local psychiatry availability can still vary by schedule and appointment type. Virtual appointments can expand your options if nearby in-person times are limited or if your calendar works better with care from home. Psychiatry visits for medication management are often shorter and less frequent than therapy sessions, and some psychiatrists also offer therapy. As you compare profiles, look for appointment availability, whether a free phone consultation is offered, and how the psychiatrist describes their communication style.
Psychiatric care in Spring can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand what you may pay before booking. Headway helps you search psychiatrists who are accepting new patients, enter your insurance details, and see estimated out-of-pocket costs upfront. You can review bios, compare virtual and in-person options, and book directly when you’re ready.
If you're already taking psychiatric medication and considering switching providers, talk to your current prescriber before changing or stopping any medication — most psychiatric medications shouldn't be stopped abruptly. Anyone experiencing thoughts of self-harm or in acute crisis should call 988 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than wait for an outpatient appointment.
