Hi, I’m Dr. Traore, PMHNP, a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner passionate about helping clients find calm, clarity, and confidence in their daily lives. My background spans medication management, psychotherapy, and holistic care for individuals facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and mood disorders. I hold a doctoral degree in nursing practice and bring years of experience supporting clients across diverse backgrounds. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and genuinely understood.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, constantly stressed, or like you’ve lost your sense of joy in everyday life, you’re not alone. Many of my clients come to me struggling to focus, manage their mood, or keep up with work and home responsibilities. I specialize in ADHD, bipolar disorder, and anxiety/depression for all individuals including perinatal/post-partum, and I provide convenient telehealth care for adults across Illinois so you can get support from the comfort of your own space.
Mental health has been an important part of my journey from the very beginning. I graduated from the University of St. Francis while working in inpatient behavioral health, where I learned how meaningful it is to meet people with kindness, patience, and understanding during difficult moments. I spent time working in medical-surgical settings to broaden my experience, but I was drawn back to mental health because it’s where I feel most connected to my work.
I provide care through telehealth and aim to make virtual visits feel as comfortable and easy as possible. I know it can take time to feel at ease talking through a screen, and I focus on creating a space that feels supportive, relaxed, and judgment-free. I take a collaborative approach, listening closely and working with you to find treatment options that fit your needs and your life.
I work with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, mood disorders, and related concerns. My goal is for you to feel heard, respected, and supported as we work together toward feeling better and more balanced in your day-to-day life.
My nursing career began in 2010 when I first became a Registered Nurse. In 2017 I graduated from Maryville University in St. Louis, MO with my master’s degree in nursing and became a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C) licensed in Illinois. I have been blessed to work in many facets of healthcare since and has also become a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). With a strong foundation in both primary care and mental health, my approach aligns overall wellness and hormone optimization with physical, mental, and lifestyle well-being.
I seek to provide culturally affirming, holistic care that integrates the mind, body, and spirit. As a multicultural, neurodivergent psychiatrist and daughter of immigrants raised in Chicago, I bring both clinical training and lived experience to our work together. My own journey through burnout and the process of learning to slow down and listen to what my body needed has also shaped the care I provide. It has grounded me in genuine curiosity, humility, and a deep respect for the wisdom you already carry.
I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who believes that true and lasting healing happens when we treat the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—not just symptoms. I approach each patient with compassion, curiosity, and deep respect, ensuring you feel empowered to explore your healing journey in a safe and supportive space.

I'm a psychiatric nurse practitioner with several years of experience, now building my own private practice so I can give each person the focused, personalized care they deserve. I work with people navigating anxiety, depression, and PTSD — conditions that can feel isolating, but often respond well to the right support and the right provider. I offer telehealth appointments, including evenings and weekends, so getting care fits into your life rather than the other way around. Whether you're looking for medication management, ongoing mental health support, or simply a place to start, I'm here to walk alongside you every step of the way.
I completed medical school at USF in Tampa, Florida and I completed psychiatry residency at GW in Washington, DC. I specialize in depression and anxiety.
Choosing the right provider is a big step, and I'm here to offer a unique blend of expertise and genuine support. I'm a dual board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), and a Certified Advanced Practice Addictions Nurse. What does this mean for you? It means I can offer truly integrated care, understanding how your physical and mental health are connected, and providing specialized support for addiction.
I've spent 14 years helping people navigate their mental health. I believe you deserve a provider who truly knows you — not just your chart. I offer both in-person and telehealth appointments, so you can choose what works best for your schedule and your life. My work centers on psychiatric evaluation and medication management, and I take the time to fully understand what's going on before any treatment decisions are made. I'm direct, accessible, and committed to being a steady, consistent presence in your care.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding psychiatrists in Park Ridge starts with knowing which type of mental health care fits your needs. Psychiatrists and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners can diagnose mental health conditions and prescribe medication. Therapists provide talk therapy and support for concerns like anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, and bipolar disorder. Medication management often includes reviewing symptoms, current concerns, and how your care plan is working over time. Some people start with a psychiatrist, some start with a therapist, and some work with both.
In a smaller city like Park Ridge, local appointment options may be more limited than in Chicago or other nearby areas, so virtual psychiatry can expand the number of psychiatrists available to you. Psychiatric appointments for medication management are often shorter and less frequent than therapy sessions, so scheduling fit matters. As you compare psychiatrists, look at appointment availability, whether they offer virtual or in-person visits, and whether they are accepting new patients. Reading bios can also help you understand each psychiatrist’s areas of focus, communication style, and whether they also provide therapy.
Psychiatric care in Park Ridge can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and understand your expected out-of-pocket cost before you book. Headway helps you search for psychiatrists who match your preferences and shows which psychiatrists are accepting new patients and may be in-network with your plan. You can review bios, compare availability, and book directly when you’re ready.
If you're already taking psychiatric medication and considering switching providers, talk to your current prescriber before changing or stopping any medication — most psychiatric medications shouldn't be stopped abruptly. Anyone experiencing thoughts of self-harm or in acute crisis should call 988 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than wait for an outpatient appointment.
