My background as a professional registered Nurse has equipped me with the relevant prerequisites of being a nurturer, which I believe is one of the most important attributes that aids patients in achieving their individual health goals sooner. I currently have the privilege of working with and caring for patients from both the paediatric and adult population, who present with varying psychiatric disorders, including anxiety, bipolar, OCD, PTSD, and insomnia, to name a few, by utilizing scientifically based practices/ approaches. I’m a doctoral-prepared, board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who works with clients across the lifespan. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Arizona and have experience caring for individuals in outpatient, intensive outpatient, and higher-acuity mental health settings. My background includes treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma-related concerns, OCD, mood disorders, and substance use. I take a thoughtful, practical, and individualized approach to care, with the goal of helping clients feel understood, safe, supported, and comfortable being honest when feeling emotionally vulnerable.

I have worked with clients and their families in various capacities for the past 12 years. I have found that I love helping people heal from past traumas and overcome whatever is holding them back. Through my training, I have found that the brain and body have incredible healing mechanisms hardwired into them. I am honored to be able to help others unlock those healing aspects and to help people enjoy their lives more fully. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Religious Studies and later completed my Master of Arts in Counseling at Multnomah University in Portland, Oregon. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington.

I earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Regent University School of Psychology and Counseling. My graduate training included a concentration in spirituality and was grounded in the belief, “To God alone be the glory.” That perspective continues to shape my work today. I approach counseling with humility, recognizing that healing can occur in many ways, and I am honored to use my clinical training in service to others with compassion, respect, and evidence based care.

My name is Jeffrey W. Danese, MS, MA, LMHC, LPCC, and I am a licensed mental health counselor in Washington State and California, currently based in Sacramento. I bring over 15 years of clinical experience across private practice, inpatient and outpatient mental health settings, and college counseling, along with a an academic background teaching psychology, religious studies, and the history of science in higher education from UCSB, FSU, and 10 years at SJSU to various community colleges in the Puget Sound region and in North Florida and cross-cultural experiences such as living in Taiwan, Zambia, Germany and traveling around the world; I studied Spanish, German, and Chinese language, world history and religions, psychology, evolutionary psychology and the cognitive science of religion; was raised Catholic but ordained as a Buddhist monk in Thailand; and continue to meditate, explore and read broadly.
