Dr. Robbie, DNP-PMHNP, is a proud doctoral graduate of a top-10-ranked program in the country, the University of Arizona in Tucson, where he was one of only 28 students accepted into the highly competitive PMHNP program. During his graduate training at University of Arizona, he developed and refined his skills and expertise in the mental health space. He specializes in treating depression, ADHD, anxiety, substance use disorders, and other mood challenges, working with patients of all ages—from children to adults. Dr. Robbie takes a thoughtful and personalized approach to medication management, tailoring care to meet each person’s unique needs. I am a trauma-informed psychiatric nurse practitioner with training from Columbia University and Frontier Nursing University. My background includes psychiatric nursing across all levels of care, as well as six years in community health serving underserved and marginalized populations. I work with children, adolescents, and adults, and have extensive experience treating mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-related conditions, and eating disorders, along with psychotic disorders, substance use concerns, and personality-related challenges. My training allows me to integrate medical knowledge, functional and nutritional psychiatry, community services, and psychotherapy to provide comprehensive, personalized care.

I’m a board-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience in healthcare and more than a decade as a nurse practitioner. My work blends evidence-based medication management with an integrative, trauma-informed lens. I believe effective care looks beyond symptoms to understand the person as a whole.

I am accepting new clients for tele-health appointments. I provide medication management for: anxiety, depression, bipolar, and/or ADHD. I have after-hour appointments and Saturday availability.

I’m Makala Smith, a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). I am committed to providing holistic mental health care through a balanced and patient-centered approach.

My background includes neurology, trauma, and public health nursing. I earned my Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree from University of Colorado after I realized the need for psychiatric providers in my rural community of Meeker, Colorado and surrounding areas. By furthering my education, I am able to provide specialized, thoughtful, empathetic psychiatric care.

I am a lover of many things, but there is nothing dearer and nearer to my heart than the clients I help. I have been a nurse for 18 years now. Almost 100% of those years, I have spent working in or around mental health. Not to mention, I grew up in a family where mental illness directly impacted my family members. This is how and why I am passionate and dedicated to giving the utmost respect and care to any and all clients who choose me as their mental health provider. I want my clients to think of me as their teammate when it comes to battling mental health.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, I completed my medical training at NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine. As an osteopathic physician, I practice with a holistic lens—integrating mind, body, and spirit—and value personalized, relational, and evidence-based care. I completed my psychiatric residency at St. Elizabeths Hospital in Washington, DC, a forensic psychiatric hospital often referred to as “the ICU of psychiatry” for its work with individuals facing chronic, treatment-resistant conditions. After residency, I spent three years in outpatient psychiatry within large corporate settings and ultimately transitioned to an eating-disorder hospital, seeking work aligned with depth, integrity, and true patient-centered care.

As a first-generation Ukrainian Jew and a native Russian speaker, I hold lived experience with immigration, intergenerational trauma, and cultural stigma surrounding mental health. This background informs my compassion, humility, and commitment to meeting patients where they are.
