I am a board-certified Psychiatrist (medical doctor) providing virtual care throughout NY and PA. I taper medications. This means most of my patients want to safely reduce or ultimately stop taking psychiatric medications, and I guide them through that process safely and at their own pace. I include therapy in my 30-min follow up sessions, though do not offer weekly 1-hour therapy sessions. Many of my patients also work with a therapist.
*Please note I am only able to treat patients located in NY state.
As a Board Certified PMHNP, I use medication management to treat mental health disorders in a supportive and compassionate environment. I work with individuals to identify safe and appropriate strategies that align with their preferences and goals of treatment. After working with many different populations, I have adopted a comprehensive, patient focused, and evidence-based treatment approach rooted in interdisciplinary care.
Hi! I’m Alyssa, a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who works with adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress, burnout, and life transitions. I have experience at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) supporting medically complex children and adolescents, which has shaped my compassionate and collaborative approach to care. My goal is to create a comfortable, welcoming space where clients feel heard, supported, and understood.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding the right psychiatrist in Goshen starts with understanding the type of care you need. Psychiatrists and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners can diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medication, and manage medication over time. Therapists provide talk therapy and are another valid starting point, depending on what you’re looking for. If you’re seeking support for anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, or medication management, review each psychiatrist’s listed specialties, training, and approach before booking.
In a smaller market like Goshen, the number of nearby psychiatry offices may be more limited than in larger cities. Virtual appointments can expand your options across New York while still giving you access to care that fits your schedule. Psychiatric medication management appointments are often shorter and less frequent than therapy sessions, and some psychiatrists also offer therapy. Some people work with both a therapist and a prescriber. As you compare options, look at appointment availability, whether the psychiatrist is accepting new patients, and what their bio says about communication style and session structure.
Psychiatric care in Goshen can be a significant expense without insurance. Using in-network insurance is one of the most reliable ways to reduce session costs and see your estimated cost before you book. Headway helps you find psychiatrists and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners who are accepting new patients with your plan, compare profiles, and book directly when you’re ready.
If you're already taking psychiatric medication and considering switching providers, talk to your current prescriber before changing or stopping any medication — most psychiatric medications shouldn't be stopped abruptly. Anyone experiencing thoughts of self-harm or in acute crisis should call 988 or go to the nearest emergency department rather than wait for an outpatient appointment.
