After spending 12 years working in the legal field, having 3 children, and ensuring my son with special needs had the support he needed to reach his potential, which he did beautifully, I decided to follow my (other) passion. Went back to school in 2016 to earn my Masters in Social Work, which allowed me to follow my dream - helping people find their voice, their identify, their peace, their power and their ability to grow.

I have been a psychotherapist in the Atlanta area for over 20 years. My practice offers a warm and welcoming environment where the client is empowered to express their true feelings and desires for change. I am a native of Atlanta Ga and a Cognitive Behavior Therapist assisting clients to trust themselves and try something new!

I believe my job as a therapist is to help tap into your most authentic self, and walk alongside you with whatever struggles there may be. My approach to therapy is direct, with the use of humor, analogies, and metaphors; I try to bring every thing together to help make sense in a world that can be confusing. Together we can tackle whatever difficult situation may be occurring in your life and get to the other side.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in honoring the whole person. I strive to create a calm, supportive environment where clients feel seen, heard, and understood. Together, we will build on your strengths, address challenges with compassion, and move toward meaningful growth and emotional well-being.

I’m LaToya T. Newman, MS, LMFT, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with master’s degrees in both Marriage and Family Therapy and Criminal Justice Sciences. My background allows me to look beyond symptoms alone and consider the relational, environmental, and systemic experiences that shape how we see ourselves, connect with others, and respond to life’s challenges.

I work with adults, couples, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress, and emotional overwhelm. I particularly enjoy supporting individuals and couples who are ready to better understand themselves, explore relational patterns, strengthen communication, and heal from experiences that continue to impact how they show up in relationships and daily life.

My work is attachment-based, trauma-informed, and relational. I pay attention not only to what is happening on the surface, but also to the deeper emotional experiences, family dynamics, and life experiences influencing your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I am especially mindful of cultural experiences, family systems, and the impact of past environments on emotional safety and connection.

Clients often describe me as warm, direct, insightful, and easy to talk to. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported without judgment while also gently challenging patterns that may no longer be serving you. I believe healing and growth happen when we better understand ourselves, feel emotionally safe, and begin addressing things at the root.
