I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner who works with all age groups. Initial appointment will include assessment, diagnosis and options available for treatment to include non medicinal choices as well as prescription medication when/if appropriate. The most common diagnoses I work with include Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Bipolar disorder, Insomnia and more. I am willing to work collaboratively with your therapist as well as Pcp to provide the best choice in caring for your mental health.
( I currently only provide medication management no individual therapy)
I am a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with over 15 years of experience in healthcare. My background spans primary care, urgent care, and mental health, allowing me to approach each client with a comprehensive understanding of both physical and emotional well-being.
I specialize in diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related disorders, ADHD, and mood disorders. My practice focuses on providing evidence-based medication management paired with supportive, collaborative care. I believe in meeting clients where they are, empowering them through education, and tailoring treatment plans to their unique needs, preferences, and goals.
My approach is warm, non-judgmental, and holistic. I value building strong therapeutic relationships and creating a safe space where clients can feel heard, understood, and supported.
If you’re looking for compassionate, thorough, and personalized care, I’m here to help you take the next step in your mental health journey.
Like many, I live in and love the state of Colorado. Any chance I get I'm out exploring the outdoors. It provides balance in my personal and professional life.
As a dual-certified Family and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner I share my interests with clients I see.
When I was working full-time as a Family Nurse Practitioner I saw an unmet need in clients finding a balance in their physical and mental health. I decided to return to school to strengthen my knowledge in psychiatric mental health care.
For the past five years my focus has included seeing clients with substance dependence, MAT treatment, ADHD, Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia. I especially enjoy the 1:1 experience via telehealth seeing clients in the comforts of their own home.
I am a lover of many things, but there is nothing dearer and nearer to my heart than the clients I help. I have been a nurse for 18 years now. Almost 100% of those years, I have spent working in or around mental health. Not to mention, I grew up in a family where mental illness directly impacted my family members. This is how and why I am passionate and dedicated to giving the utmost respect and care to any and all clients who choose me as their mental health provider. I want my clients to think of me as their teammate when it comes to battling mental health.
Welcome! I’m honored you’re considering care. I’m a doctorally prepared Nurse Practitioner with dual board certification in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care and Primary Mental Health. As a former first responder, I bring firsthand understanding of the unique stressors faced by those in high-intensity roles. I take a trauma-informed, person-centered approach to care. I specialize in working with individuals navigating complex emotional landscapes, including first responders and members of the LGBTQ+ community. My goal is to create a safe, affirming space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered to take steps toward healing.
Looking for care that goes beyond a prescription? I'm Chelsea, a psychiatric nurse practitioner and owner of Thrive Psychiatry Colorado. In our work together, I will take time to listen and create a personalized plan that blends modern psychiatry with holistic care, always with curiosity, compassion, and a whole-person lens. I combine psychiatry with integrative wellness to support both mind and body. My journey began in yoga and doula work, and over the past 20 years I’ve also worked in nutrition, eating disorder treatment, community mental health, private practice and pediatric emergency medicine.
As your Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I want you to know that I am here for you every step of the way. You can trust that I am fully committed to your well-being and dedicated to providing you with the highest quality of care.
Something positive, warm, and uplifting about me as your PMHNP is that I genuinely believe in your strength and resilience. I see your potential for growth and healing, even during the toughest of times. Together, we'll navigate through the challenges.

Finding the right psychiatrist in Colorado Springs starts with understanding what kind of care you need. Psychiatrists are medical doctors who can diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medication, and monitor how those medications are working over time. Psychiatric nurse practitioners (PMHNPs) can also prescribe and manage medication and are widely available in the Colorado Springs area. If you're looking for help with anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, or PTSD, either provider type may be a good fit.
Colorado Springs has a range of psychiatric providers, but availability can vary depending on your insurance, preferred appointment format, and the condition you're seeking care for. Consider what matters most to you — whether that's a provider who specializes in a specific diagnosis, someone who offers virtual appointments, or a practice located near your part of the city. Reading a provider's bio can help you understand their background and approach before you commit.
Psychiatry in Colorado Springs can be costly without insurance coverage. Using your in-network benefits is one of the most reliable ways to reduce what you pay per session. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs upfront, and many patients pay as low as $0 per visit. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, making it easier to find a psychiatrist who fits both your clinical needs and your budget.
