I graduated from EVMS with my degree in Art Therapy and Counseling in 2016, and since then have worked with a variety of different people in many different settings. My approach is collaborative and eclectic - I feel we are all on a path of growth, healing, and self discovery and that therapy can truly help this process along.
I am committed to making clients feel safe and heard while focusing on progress. I have extensive experience with black and brown women, trauma, family challenges and LGBTQ+ communities
Challenges shouldn’t just be endured—they should be the catalyst for your breakthrough. My goal is to help you transform life's toughest hurdles into a foundation for lasting resilience and self-discovery, giving you the tools to reclaim your strength and lead a more intentional life.
I work with individuals, couples, and families of all ages. I have a Masters in Clinical Health Psychology and a Masters in Nutrition/Dietetics, which helps lend to a holistic approach to my work with clients. I commonly work with health behavioral change, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, ADHD, OCD, and relationship change. My treatment approach utilizes a biopsychosocial lense in long-term therapy based in psychodynamic, strengths-based, and integrative work in overall health. I utilize coping skills from CBT, DBT, ACT, and Mindfulness. I incorporated life-skills such a assertiveness, boundaries, and career.
I love the work that I do and the healing relationships I have been able to foster with my clients. I believe that therapy is a form of self-care and I want to be an advocate of that for my clients. I welcome anyone who thinks they may want some support, whether long-term or short-term to reach out to me and set up a brief phone consultation.
I apply a holistic and person-centered approach to therapy. I recognize that by creating a safe, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic environment, clients can learn to redefine dysfunctional boundaries, to reconnect with a sense of meaning for their lives, and to ultimately make lasting changes in their lives and relationships. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families in navigating life transitions, grief, depression, anxiety, gender identity, sexual identity, trauma, OCD, narcissistic abuse, adult children of emotionally immature parents, and relationship strain.
You don't have to carry grief, a breakup, or relationship pain alone. Maybe you're needing help with an important decision or need creative solutions to challenges. In therapy we can make sense of what's happening.
I'm licensed in Virginia and Florida. I have advanced training in Parts Work, trauma treatment, EMDR and couples counseling. I bring a thoughtful, creative, and collaborative approach to therapy. I speak Spanish fluently. También hablo español.
I strive to be inclusive and affirming of diverse identities and experiences, and have over 13 years of experience in mental health. If you’re looking for a therapist who will meet you with warmth, depth, and respect, and work alongside you toward resonance, healing and growth, I invite you to reach out.
