My personal journey was not one I would choose. My first husband was diagnosed with cancer in September 2004 and died in February 2006. The experience of spousal caregiving and young widowhood, and 10 years as a federal Special Agent eventually led me to change careers to become a counselor.
I love helping individuals and couples build meaning, self-acceptance, and self-worth despite grief, trauma, shame, and problematic behavior and relationship patterns.

You are the most important person when you enter my space. I am committed to helping manage anxiety, depression, life stressors, trauma, and challenges that adults, families and teens may face. A good fit for me is a client who knows something needs adjustment but is not necessarily sure what that is. It is my role to guide, to challenge, to support, and to set that stage for growth.
If what you’ve been doing in the past isn’t working, are you ready to try something new? My mission is to educate and to empower you to live your optimal life. Reaching out can feel overwhelming. Just call or email for a consultation. I’ll answer your questions and share how we might work together. I’m here to provide you with support and guidance.
I have over 20 years of experience working with children, teens, families and couples in multiple community-based settings and agencies. I graduated from Hampton University and hold an Education Specialist Degree in Counseling (Ed.S). I am also an approved LPC supervisor with the Virginia Board of Counseling.
I want to help you help yourself. I believe everyone is capable of change and I will teach you skills to use everyday.
