I specialize in creating personalized treatment plans that honor the whole person — mind, body, and spirit. Whether I’m diagnosing, prescribing, or simply listening, my mission is to make every patient feel seen, heard, and cared for. I strive to turn sessions into moments of trust, learning, and hope."
I am board certified in Family Practice as well as Psychiatry and have been in practice for 25 year. I work with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, bipolar disorder, as well as address physical symptoms or issues that may affect mental health. I hold a Doctorate degree in education and Master Degrees in Advance Practice Nursing and education.
Hi, I'm Mitch — a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Vanderbilt University. San Diego has been home since 2020, when the Navy first brought me here.
My background includes pediatrics at Children’s Hospital in St. Paul, inpatient psychiatry in Nashville and San Diego, crisis stabilization, and outpatient mental health care. I’ve worked with veterans, college students, LGBTQ+ individuals, people experiencing homelessness, and patients navigating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, trauma, substance use, and severe mental illness.
I primarily provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management while integrating supportive therapy, psychoeducation, and practical coping strategies into visits. My approach is collaborative, direct, and grounded in helping people improve day-to-day functioning and quality of life.
I look forward to getting to know you.

I know how heavy life can feel when you’re carrying pain, uncertainty, or self-doubt. I work with Gen Z and Millennial adults facing anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and more. Through integrative, culturally responsive care, I combine evidence-based psychiatry with holistic strategies to help you feel heard, supported, and empowered to create a life that aligns with your true self.

Headway makes it easy to find support for your mental health — from finding the right provider, to understanding costs, to scheduling with ease.
Finding the right psychiatrist in Rancho Cucamonga starts with knowing what type of care you need. Psychiatrists are medical doctors who can evaluate mental health conditions, prescribe medication, and monitor your response over time. Psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners (PMHNPs) can also diagnose and prescribe medication. Both provider types are available through Headway for residents of Rancho Cucamonga and surrounding Inland Empire communities like Fontana, Claremont, and Ontario.
When choosing a provider, consider their experience with your specific concerns — whether that's ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, or something else. Reading a provider's bio can give you a sense of their approach and personality before you book. Some providers also offer a free phone consultation so you can ask questions and confirm it feels like a good fit.
Psychiatry sessions in the Inland Empire can be costly out of pocket, but using in-network insurance coverage is one of the most reliable ways to reduce what you pay. On Headway, you can enter your insurance details to see estimated session costs before booking. Nationally, Headway partners with over 100 insurance plans, and many patients pay as low as $0 per session.
