With over 20 years of healthcare experience—including 10 combined years in inpatient psychiatric stabilization, crisis services, and dual-diagnosis treatment—I bring strong clinical expertise and a deep commitment to the clients I serve.

My path to psychiatry began with medical school training in Cuba, followed by 8 years caring for critically ill patients at the bedside, experience that taught me how deeply mental and physical health are connected. Today I also serve as a psychiatric provider in nursing and assisted living facilities, caring for patients with complex needs. As a father of two boys, I understand how important mental balance is for a full life. Miranda Gurley, APRN, MSN, PMHNP, is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a background in critical care nursing and advanced training in psychiatric assessment and treatment. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama, where she completed more than 600 supervised clinical hours focused on psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, medication management, and psychotherapy techniques. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mississippi University for Women.

Originally from a small town in south Mississippi, Miranda brings a grounded and patient-centered approach to her practice. Her early nursing career was spent in intensive care units at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida, and North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. There, she cared for patients with complex medical, neurological, and cardiac conditions, and supported families through both recovery and end-of-life care. This experience shaped her ability to remain calm under pressure, listen closely, and advocate for those in vulnerable situations.

Her clinical interests include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related conditions, ADHD, and supporting patients through life transitions. Miranda’s goal is to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care that helps patients achieve stability, improved functioning, and long-term mental wellness.

Mental health is apart of us all! Jessica Herron is a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner. She started her career as a registered nurse on a progressive coronary unit at age of 21, where she learned mental health is at the core of healing. She obtained her masters degree in 2010, specializing in psychiatric care. She has worked many diverse areas: community, inpatient, crisis, dual diagnosis, detox, emergency room; from children to geriatic and dementia related behaviors. Her passion is to lesson the stigma associated with mental health across the lifespan and normalize a bad day. When she is not serving her community, she enjoys time with her husband and 2 young children; the youngest a heart transplant warrior and indulging in a decadent cupcake.

As a psychiatric supervisor, she has mentored emerging clinicians while maintaining her own evidence-based clinical practice. Xiomara's approach combines clinical expertise with genuine empathy.
