Coping with the death of a spouse, parent, or child is deeply personal. Downey residents can find compassionate grief counseling through Headway, where providers help with unresolved grief, meaning-making, and navigating the unique challenges of losing someone close. Sessions support your path toward acceptance and healing.
You may be seeking support in moving toward a more preferred version of yourself, your life, and your relationships. You may be questioning important facets of your identity, or wondering how to locate and uproot the seeds of painful and complicated emotions. Perhaps you are curious about navigating a different type of relational structure with your loved ones, or you may be feeling stuck with a particular challenge in the way you connect to others. My role as a therapist is to provide support and facilitate insight that will allow you to work toward your personal goals.
You may feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve you, overwhelmed by emotions, or unsure why certain experiences continue to affect your life. Maybe you find yourself repeating the same relationship patterns, being hard on yourself, feeling disconnected, or trying to move forward but something keeps pulling you back.
Therapy is a space to slow down, understand yourself on a deeper level, and create lasting change. Together, we will explore the roots of your struggles, reconnect with your strengths, and help you move toward greater self-trust, healing, and a life that feels more aligned with who you truly are.
I am a caring and compassionate person who genuinely wants to help others. I
Hola, Soy Christina Zapata, mi pronombre es ella. Hello, I'm Christina Zapata, my pronouns are she and her. I am bilingual (English/Spanish), bi-and pan cultural. My professional training is in clinical social work. I started out in depth-oriented psychotherapy in 2012, moved to family work with foster and adoptive families in the middle part of my career and have returned to psychodynamic, systems-oriented psychotherapy with individuals and families since 2017. I have experience working with Transgender individuals, those in current or former relationships where intimate partner violence is present, foster and adopted youth, and Spanish speaking political and economic refugees and immigrants. I am trained in EMDR. I have undertaken a three year grief training to help people stay connected to, sit with and move through pain. More recently, I am adding to my practice work around supporting individuals who are experiencing stress and confusion in their workplace.
I have a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work, and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), working in private practice as a Psychotherapist. I live in Los Angeles, and work in-person or hybrid, with adults, teens, couples and the aging population. I specialize in anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, work stress/dissatisfaction, career goals, sleep disorders, substance use, trauma (ptsd/complex/acute), obsessive compulsive disorders (OCD/OCPD), attention deficit disorders (ADD/ADHD). In addition I deal with grief, isolation, and breaking creative blocks.
I'm Tene Rodgers, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 20 years of experience in mental health and social services. I made the decision to become fully licensed five years ago because I wanted to go deeper in the work I've always cared about, and I haven't looked back since. I'm a Black woman, and that lived perspective shapes how I show up in the room. I offer culturally affirming care to adults, teens, and families, with a particular focus on trauma, grief, women's issues, relationship dynamics, and substance use.
If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, or life's emotional challenges, please know you don’t have to carry this weight alone. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, I am dedicated to helping you reclaim your life. My practice is built on a foundation of deep empathy and genuine care. I treat you as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms. Together, we will navigate your challenges using evidence-based treatments tailored to your unique story and goals. Your mental health journey deserves a safe space, and I am here to provide exactly that as we work toward your healing.
I came from Denmark to California for my own therapy and healing. After working for 20+ years as an educator and creating a family, I decided to pursue the road to become a therapist. I've worked with a diverse range of people, families, ages and challenges in humanistic, person centered, emotion focused schools, in psychodynamic community clinic, in substance use recovery center running groups and in a treatment center for clients suffering from eating disorders and co-existing conditions. Working in this field continues to give me an in depth understanding of the human soul and heart that I strive to use to help others heal.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with more than 4 years of experience. I have experience working with clients facing a variety of emotional and life challenges, including anxiety, depression, stress, adjustment difficulties, trauma-related concerns, and postpartum disorders. I provide evidence-based psychotherapy that supports emotional wellbeing, healthy coping skills, and personal growth in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment.
My therapeutic approach is integrated and tailored to meet your unique needs. I often draw from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational interviewing.
Do you feel like something is wrong with you? Do you wish it would all just stop and go away? Is your child acting out and you don't know why or what to do? If you have had any of these thoughts, then you're in the right place! My practice is based around what happened to us, not what is wrong with us. I am here to support & guide you in processing thoughts and feelings, reflect on experiences, learn new coping skills, and figure out next steps. I will listen, teach, brainstorm, guide and help you build tools to meet your goals.
Greetings, my name is Fernando Macias, LMFT. I welcome you to take the opportunity to heal and find helpful solutions to your day to day issues, and to the most complex of situations. Life is not easy, however it can be a very exciting ride.
