Hi there, and welcome!
Congrats on taking the first step. As a licensed psychotherapist, my passion is listening and tuning into my clients' strengths, challenges, and what's holding them back from experiencing their best selves - and going from there. I work with adults of all ages, and specialize in trauma, anxiety, and depression. I hold a Masters from Fordham University's Graduate School of Social Services, completed a two-year training program at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, and am EMDR trained.
I help high-performing professionals, parents, and caregivers navigate the heavy mental load of modern life. Whether you are battling severe corporate burnout, or managing the chaos of a non-traditional family-like single parenting, a blended household, or high-conflict custody, you are likely the person everyone else relies on. I understand how exhausting it is to feel completely unsupported while keeping it all together for everyone else.
With over 15 years of experience in clinical practice and healthcare leadership, I have a deep, firsthand understanding of workplace stress, chronic burnout, and executive pressure. I know exactly what it means to look highly successful and polished on the outside, while quietly drowning under immense pressure on the inside.
My style is direct, practical, and action-oriented. You won't get generic textbook platitudes here. I take your unique situation seriously and focus on tangible strategy to help you regain control.
"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn how to surf" is a Jon Kabat-Zinn quote relevant to these challenging times. I'm a seasoned mental health counselor with experience in supporting individuals to find creative solutions for anxiety and depression, as well as relationship issues and family dynamics. I will provide a safe environment to help facilitate positive changes in your life. I have a specialization in life transitions, and working with people pleasers and stuck creatives.
I am a licensed clinical social worker with over thirty five years of experience working with individuals of all ages. I utilize a combination of talk therapy, CBT and solution based approaches. I create a warm, safe space for you to explore your feelings and experiences.
It takes courage and will to seek a clinician who meets your needs. Our consultation followed by the first session is the first time we have connected. I will do my best making you feel as comfortable as possible as I have done with other clients.
I am an experienced clinician with two Masters in clinical social work working at hospitals and mental health clinics. Supervisor of social work students.
My specialization is how early childhood trauma manifests impairing functioning as adults. You may feel stuck harbored by anxiety, depressed mood, and lack of motivation. Clients come to my virtual site with relationship, work and personal challenges.
My clients are actors, Master Students, PH.D. students, professors, employees having difficulty at work, unemployed workers, grade school and high school teachers, grandmothers as mothers again, female and male veterans.
It's important that we work together as a team. You are seeking therapy at this time due to life challenges that interfere with a life worth living. I am committed to my work as a psychotherapist. Psychotherapy is my passion.
I am nonjudgmental and open-minded
I approach the conversations without preconceived notions or judgements
I encourage openness and honesty
Let the clients know that they can speak freely and their honesty is appreciated and important
There are things that happen during pregnancy and after birth that nobody warned you about — and even fewer people know how to sit with you through. I'm Selena, a licensed clinical social worker and perinatal mental health specialist (PMH-C). I work with Black and Brown women, mothers, and LGBTQIA+ clients who are navigating some of life's most tender and complicated moments: becoming a parent, healing old wounds that pregnancy surfaced, or simply trying to figure out who you are underneath the roles you carry. My approach blends evidence-based therapy with the kind of healing that your grandmother might have known — Reiki, sound healing, ancestral wisdom, and the power of community. I don't practice therapy in a vacuum. I understand that systemic barriers, intergenerational trauma, and the specific weight of being a Black or Brown woman in this world are not separate from your mental health. They are your mental health. I also facilitate Cultivating Grace, a perinatal mental health group for women who want to heal collectively — because sometimes the most powerful thing is knowing you're not alone.
I’m so glad you’re here. Taking the first step toward therapy isn’t always easy, and I believe everyone deserves a safe, supportive place to explore life’s challenges without judgment.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Social Welfare from Stony Brook University and my Master of Social Work from Adelphi University. For the past four and a half years, I’ve worked with teens, adolescents, and adults facing a variety of life’s challenges. I strive to create a compassionate, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to achieve their goals.
Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply looking to better understand yourself, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
My work is rooted in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. Through a collaborative and non-judgmental process, I help clients reconnect with their strengths, clarify what truly matters to them, and move toward meaningful, lasting change.
